Creep Wit Me: A journey into the mind of a blackman.

"Let freedom rain with a buckshot, but not just yet; we need to understand the nature of the threat" These were the opening words of a track released by new born west coast strongest lyricist yet - Rass Kass. The track titled ''Nature of Threat'' lived up to expectation as it provides an indept analysis of the nature of the threat. it started with the origin of black man,the phenotypical traits and genetic recessive attributes of the white manto the origin of racsim, bastardization of christiniiity, the slave trade and the white man's master plan for the future. Nothing short of brilliant and exceptional describes this effort. However, this mentality has been in existence long before the emergence of Raass kass; the belief that "a White man's Heaven is a Black man's Hell" was knocked into our head by raps most irrespressible pro-black crew Public Enemy. As a mattter of fact it served as a theme and concept for every album they have ever releasd. This belief was however taken to the climax on their "Muse-Sick-N-Mess-Age" LP; where they broke the white man's monopoly down to the bone gristle with final analysis like "Black History/White Lie, Black Athletes/Whhite Agents, Black Preachers/White Jesus, Black Drug Dealer/White Government, Black Entertainers/White Lawyers, Black Success Story/White Wife, Black Police/Whiite Judges Bllack Business/White Accountants Black Record Company/White distribution, Black Comedians/White Media, Black Politician/White President, and Black Genocide/White world order. Unless you have a pro-black mentality, it's impossible to understand the message Chuck D was trying to relay which centres around the black, in any situation, being subservient to the white man. To put it plain and simple, a black man's success is at the mercy of the white man. Another show of poetic brilliance was displayed wheen the irrepressible Chuck D analyzed the components of thhe American Flag on the track "Ain't Nutting' but a song"; it goes.-"The red is for the blood we shed, the blue is for the sad ass song we be singing in church wile the white man's heaven is a black man's hell, the star's we saw when we got our ass beat, the stripes is for the whip marks on our back, the white is for the obvious, ain't no black in that flag". With crazy knowledge like that, it's no surprise that the USA contingents to the 1996 Olympics were clad in a predominantly black jerssey unlike the customary blue of 1988/92. Public Enemy, KRS One,Rass Kass,Kam, X-Clan, and a host of others, try very hhard to express politics through the vehicle called WAX, but is the nature of the threat? Agreed, western civilization means white dominaton, agreed thhere are documented cases of whites being savage cannibals but when are we black folks going to start taking responsibility for our actions; the rap fore-runners and activists like Khalli Abdul Mohammed & Minister Louis Farrakkar are quick to point a finger like bitches, at either the white man or the Church for the woes that befall the black man. Our new line of thought is that people of colour are genetically dominant while Caucasoids(Whites) aaaare genetically recessive, so since continuous cross breeding will eventually turn three-quarter of the world's population to brown- then black by the year 2050, the white minority have created a system to force blacks into an unnatural position that reinforces a position of natural inferiority-hence,the birth of a lab experiment that confirms the existence of certain genes and chromosomes that support the theory of genetics inferiority in black folks. Besides that fact we have become so Knowledgeable in the areas of biology and genetics, there is nothing else we've got to show that we're fighting against the genocide status quo. Willie D the most vocal member of the 5th ward Texas crew, The Geto Boys said it all when he said "Niggaz are like flies; always into some shit''; geto quotes like "Niggaz get on top and niggaz hate it, cause niggaz cant stand to see another nigga make it.'' Sums up the mentality of the black man world-wide. " The black community is full of envy''. Is the way the one time focused rapper, Ice Cube puts it. How do we expect the white man to love and respect us when we can't even afford to love and respect ourselves!! We scream "justice Or just Us''. But we're just a bunch of black men walking, but mentally in recliners! Word to Sadat X of Brand Nubians. The Lost Boys claim that black folks live by the love of the ghetto, better know as geto love; how do we explain the absence of entire N.W.A. (Niggaz with attitude /Avarice) member from their mentor, the late Eazy E's burial? All except DJ Yella, were absent. Eazy E was quick to give them a career break through, but none of them was black enough to go through the last rite. Or worse still, each member turning down Yella's proposals for a cameo appearance on his own project- the same Yella was supposed to be making the beats accapella back n' the dazy. Talk about helping your brother when his is down. N.W.A, a bunch o f mark ass wanna be gangsters niggaz. They can't afford to see Yella go for dolo and clock add Lucci. It is the same envy and jealousy that sparked of the 2Pac/Notorious BIG feud, which eventually degenerated into a death row/bad boy face off. The feud in its entirely is believed to have claimed two lives; one death row employee, and the other, stretch from live squad (New York). 2Pac, with three albums to his credit at that time, two of which went platinum, couldn't afford to see Biggie go platinum with his first effort at a solo career; he would have preferred to have the nigga stranded in Thug for life. Both rappers are talented; 2Pac carries more poetry, realism and emotions, Biggie carries more lyrical skills and currency- at least it isn't Puff Daddy, the CEO of Bad Boy Entertainment, that is buying his cars for him. If both rappers choose to wear Versace and kiss the ass of them Italians by getting hyped on some on some Italiano - Mafioso shit; so be it Ice T, Kool G Rap, Too Short and Big Daddy Kane, have been wearing designers clothes long before these two kids rocked the mic. Another thing 2Pac couldn't stand is the fact that Biggie Small achieved, with one album, what 2Pac couldn't achieve with three albums-Biggie has got his business going on; he put his crew Junior M. A F.I .A on the map-platinum bound, Lil' Kim is becoming more popular and loved everyday; Junior Mafia has two singles already gone past the gold status while Biggie has countless gold and platinum single. 2Pac on the other hand only has one platinum single "Dear Mama," he's making money and losing it steadily in court cases and out of court case settlements. His "Outta Gutter" records was in jail-he was catching problems from every angle.Rather than get his act together, so that we, his supporters, will have a reason to continue suppoting him, he chose to exppend all that raw black energy bad mouthing the Notorious one, whom, under normal circumstances shouldn't be in the on the same level with him. 2Pac was a million selling artist before Death Row, he was an entity on his own- a major force in Hip-Hop; he brought the left pains in brains- but his extravagant show of envy, culminated in the release of "All eyes on me ", a lack lustre album, verry unlike 2Pac; except for occasional flashes of poetry heree and there, there was nothing 2Pacalytic about the album. Matter-of-factly, 2Pac found himself struggling between his revolutionary identity and gettting lost in the dogg pound. Until his unfotunate yet expected death, his biggest claim to fame was sleeping with Faith, Biggiest estranged wife. If he actuallydid that, it's not because Faith is a whore! I'm sure we all know what to call a woman who goes all out to sleep with her spouse's rival. I quote Detroit's own Noncnalant when I write "it's not a white man's finger on the trigger, car jacks, drive-bys, calling each other niggars"; this serves as the baseline for our next issue. I'm pro reality rhymes, but anti-gangstarism. Realityrhymes, which must be perceived as a branch of lyrical science that centres around the expression of ghetto pain, must not be confused withsenseless vioence perpetrated through drive-bys, both unlike the ones that claimed the lives of 2Pacand stretch. Rass Kass, Carlifornia native said he's heard fifty thousand tales of drive-bys, of which fourty thousand nine hundred and ninety were lies. It seems to be the studio gangstars that make the most noise to gain a reputation as hardcore. These self proclaimed real G's are not swift enough to be sharp shooters;I mean, 2Pac has fired shots at off duty police officers before, but it has not escapeed that this tugg leaves this gun at home at a time he needs it most. The first time he ate upfive bulletsin New York, he didn't have his strap by his side for the much needed protection. So much for thuggin' on wax, 2Pac killeed the entire Badboy crew on wax, but when the real beeef came calling with some O.G's that didn't give a damn if he had a record deal, when it was really time to answer the name thug"; that was when 2Pac heeded the words AutherBaker and left his gun at home- the rest is history. So is it really worth it to talk about killing everybody on record and then get stuffed out on the street by those you live your life to emulate? It's appalling what some gangstar rappers do to appear tough.Spice 1 got himself arrested for being in possession of a 9mm glock(gun) with an infra-red sight,Biggie and his mafia got arrested on guns and drug charges, Pooh-mans is cold lampin' in jail for armed robbery-you know the ski-mask-shotgun type. The list is inexaustible-but the most appalling incident is that of Justice. This brother should know better; the self proclaimed gangsta started out calling Ice Cube, Redman andLLCool J mummy's boys pretending to be hardcore- two days later, he did the dumbest thing, he went to a public place and fired gunshots in the air - how shameful. Well he enjoyed the front page stories; but unfortunately, he is still looking for that has eluded him for sometime now. Violence and abuse do not only come in forms of guns- how about drugs-how about drugs and alcohol? The Japanese sell alcohol in black neighbourhoods, they use our alcohol money to send their children to college! Meanwhile, we sit back, get drunk and question the white man's knowledge. MC Shan and The Last Poets got their careerended as a result of their drug problems- still the biggest record sellers are advocates of drugs and alcohol. Redman, Wu Tang Clan, Death Row posse and a host of others are pro-marijuana and alcohol. With role models advocating negativity, it's no surprise that the two times 2Pac was shot, the pppolice had no suspect, or should I say, couldn't be bothered with finding one. The same thing with strech. As far as they're concerneed, it's one less niggerto worry about. Lert us not forget that, upon the death of Nicole Brown, the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) manufactured a suspect in her estranged husband, oO.J.Simson.But a rap star like 2 Pac getting killed is just one of those things. Niggaaz are born to live a life to die. This is regardless of the fact that 2 Pac is larger than Nicole Brown. That was how they gave Mike Tyson six years for a case that couldn't be proven and the let that Kennedy boy off the hook when it was glaring that he raped the victim-The painful fact is that the police force act this way because we don't give them any reason to do otherwise! Who killed Malcolm X? Who killed Martin Luther King Jnr.? unsolved cases. But peep how they were quickto manufacture a suspect for the assassination of J.F.Kennedy.Rather difficult to say, but the biggest enemy of the black man is the black man himself. THAT'S THE TRUE NATURE OF THREAT.We need to think about that.
